Dome
FAQ's
(With special thanks to
Ng Kang Lin for the contribution) |

1) the website listed out the domes' Lifespan: Not
more than 12 months. (can we build a dome with
lifespan of only 1 month or it is a typo error?) |
|
You can have a lifespan of 12
minutes if u like, but if I don't see it when I
evaluate it, then I'll consider it unbuilt. Whatever
the lifespan is (less than 12 months), state it in
ur INTENTION which must now be in a printed document
(see Team
Report). |
|
|
2) how we are going to choose our location Along the
Proposed 132 Dome Spine? Do we need to register our
area first or it is based on first come first serve?
(if not i think everyone will fight to choose a good
location). |
|
You shall be allocated the
site at 11.00am on 10 September. Carry your dome
components to the site and get it up in 30 minutes.

|
3) About the show team identitiy, can we modify the
dome by adding two horn or other design to make it
more identitied? |
|
No. The construction (not
form) shall be the team (ACTOR) identity. Explore
identity in ACTOR, INTENTION, ACT. |
|
|
4) about the material,we can use anything as long as
it is recyclable? |
|
Yes, and u need to state what
the materials can be recycled into (see
Team Report). |
|
|
5) can we draw out our idea on the paper and then
show it to you ? |
|
Yes, make sure u bring it to
class on 3 Sep 2008. |

Just to clarify about the rules of the dome. At the
examples of domes from previous seniors, it is
stated that their dome is 'fabricated'. Does it mean
our domes should be just the frame structure without
any covering? Meaning open-air? It is stated that
one of the rule is 'Prefrabricated'. Just to
clarify.

Prefab construction is dry
construction in which components can be assemled
(plugged-in, slotted-in, screwed-on...) on site -
with or without roof
covering. |
