I was recently requested by my
sister to look at what can be done to her house she bought
in Kangar. She needed to show her
contractor what to do in oder for her to make the house
habitable for her and her husband.
Mmm. What can I
say? I no longer have my
Microstation which students and I used to share on our
Microstation Saturdays in the late 1990s. That's another
long HBP CAD Story. I don't even have
the Mini-CAD which I used to redesign Mount Miriam Hospital
with.
I installed a BJ 3DHome
Architect which, after its first use, was not very useful
for my sister and her husband. So I had to resort to doing
it MANUALLY.
But my drawing table is dusty,
my scale rules (architectural, engineering, surveyor's) all
taped up in a container and my set squares are in one of the
many boxes in my room. I don't even have my black sketch
book.
I went thru Microsoft Office to
find Visio, tried it out, even tried shifting my sister's
furniture into the Ground and First Floors. Plan
drawing, that was that. My sister still
has to show it to her contractor.
She finally did. All I
supplied her with were the images on this page (done
with Power Point!).
NB:
A student who saw me
doing this introduced me to Sketch-Up. I'm working
on it now. |
