AIMS  OF  SEMINAR
To provide background information regarding the planning framework for heritage precincts and the range of opportunities available for constructive management of city and area identity
To describe the relevant organisations concerned with heritage precincts management in Malaysia with case studies presented from Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Kuching and international examples
To discuss ways of involving the community and government in appropriate management of special character areas
To discuss signage strategies that are integrated with overall planning strategies using Malaysian and international examples
To discuss interpretation and cultural tourism strategies
To focus on practical examples of issues in heritage precincts with involvement of seminar participants in workshop and discussions throughout the workshop
