(Synopsis: The main intent of the book is to study the wide range of British colonial architecture in Malaysia, particularly those which were built between 1800 and 1930. The year 1800 is a convenient point for permanent buildings to be established. The effects of modern architecture were beginning to be seen in the 1920s. The date of 1930 is considered to be suitable cut off point for considered of historic buildings. There are 5 chapters in the book discussing many aspects of building conservation including its importance, discovering British colonial buildings and the classification of buildings. The book would be useful not only to foreign visitors and tourists but to those who have the interest of preserving and conserving the national heritage of Malaysia)
