ARCHITECTURE STUDY AT THE SCHOOL OF HOUSING, BUILDING & PLANNING, UNIVERSITI SAINS MALAYSIA

Architecture Programme: Centre of Ecotecture   The School of Housing, Building and Planning

The School of Housing Building and Planning (HBP) wishes to become more recognised internationally. The growth in postgraduate students from abroad, the opportunities created by globalisation and the recognition by gaining validation from international bodies. The School would like its new Centre for Sustainability to grow. The University has already been recognised as a ‘centre of excellence’ in this field. It is currently producing a book covering all aspects of sustainability in the built environment.

The architecture programme currently emphasises its research strength under its ‘Centre of Ecotecture’. There are enormous advantages in being grouped with other disciplines. The School of Housing Building & Planning also offers Post Graduate by Research under the architecture programme of MSc by research and PhD.  The major areas are Holistic Building Construction and Design, Passive Design, Architectural Theory and History, Urban Design and Planning, Housing Studies, House Design, Autonomous Building, Energy-Efficiency, Lighting Studies, Thermal Comfort, Vernacular Architecture, Sustainable Architecture, Housing, CAD and Animation Technology.
