The ‘International Transport Research Conference’ is an international event initiated by the School of Housing, Building and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia, in collaboration with Transport Science Society of Malaysia. The conference, which coincides with the ‘5th Malaysia Universities Transport Research Forum Conference’, will cover both scientific and operational aspects of transportation and provides a platform for researchers, academicians, policy makers and other stakeholders from around the world to discuss the current transportation issues, to identify innovative and sustainable solution techniques, and to provide a deeper understanding of the field. We are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Transport Research Conference 2011 to be held at Universiti Sains Malaysia on the 12-14th April 2011. Papers are invited on a wide range of topics related to transportation, include but are not limited to the following areas:

          • Transport Safety

          • Transport Business

          •Transport Accessibility, Design and Aesthetics

          • Transportation Planning

          • Transportation Infrastructure Planning Design

          • Construction and Maintenance of Transportation

          • Intelligent Transportation Systems

          • Traffic Operations and Management

          • Sustainable Transport

          • The Future of Transportation



Presenters should submit abstracts between 150 -300 words in length by e-mail to the conference secretariat in Microsoft Word format. Abstract should clearly state the objectives, methodology, results and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper. Final acceptance will be based on the full-length paper.  Abstract(s) should be sent to no later than 31 October 2010. Please include the following items in the abstract: Title of paper; author’s name(s) and affiliation(s); e-mail address; abstract content and keywords (ABSTRACT GUIDELINES). Abstracts, written papers and oral presentation should be in English.  Authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to submit full papers and the guidelines for full papers submission will be provided (FULL PAPER GUIDELINES). All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, in CD-ROM support.
