Creating A Layout

 

  How to Creating a New Layout ?
  1. First, You must open a view that you want to create a layout.

  2. Then, go to View menu and choose Layout.

  3. In the Template Manager dialog that appears, click the template you want to use for your layout.(Landscape, Portrait, Landscape-Inset, Portrait-Neatlines or Landscape-Neatlines).

  4. ArcView automaticaly creates a layout containing your view, the title , a legend, a scale bar and a north arrow of your view.

  5. Setting up the layout page by choosing Page Setup from the Layout menu. (The page setup dialog lets you specify the page size, margins orientation, output resolution of your layout)

  6. Setting up the layout grid by choosing Layout Properties from the Layout menu. ( To change the grid spacing or to disable the snap to grid option so you can position components unrestricted by grid)

  7. Adding Components to a layout.
