About Tourism Research Circle (TRC)

Tourism Research Circle (TRC) is stationed at the School of Housing, Building and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia, gathering fellow researchers in tourism sector pertaining to the planning and development of tourism products.

Established in 1998, TRC has involved in research and consultancy works for Ministry of Tourism, Tourism Malaysia, state governments and international institutions.

In 2007, TRC was further expanded into Sustainable Tourism Research Cluster (STRC) under the umbrella of the Social Transformation Research Platform, one of the research platforms in USM, bringing together multidisciplinary experts from various Centers of Excellence in the university including the School of Housing, Building and Planning, School of Management, School of Arts, School of Communications and others.
